School Photos - Arizona Bowl Surprise
Santa Rita High School had a big surprise on November 24! Dental teacher Jena Simental was honored by representatives from the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl with a $1,000 check for her classroom. As part of the Extra Yard for Teachers program, the award celebrates educators who go above and beyond for their students.

In her dental program, students can earn real professional certifications before they graduate, giving them a strong start in the healthcare field. The surprise was made even more special with Ms. Simental’s family and several former students showing up to cheer her on. Her current students were proud to see her recognized for the impact she continues to make. Huge thank you to the Arizona Bowl for supporting amazing educators like Mrs. Simental!

School Photos - $50,000 Literacy Donation
Santa Rita Principal Tamara Ray was shocked and amazed to open a gift box from Dollar General regional store managers containing a check for $50,000 in support of a 'Reading Revolution' at the school. There's a Dollar General store right across the street from the school and they have a good relationship with both staff and students. The Dollar General Literacy Foundation was started in 1993 and has donated almost $5 million to literacy efforts. Thank you, Dollar General!

On February 26, Santa Rita High School hosted a career fair with dozens of representatives from a variety of local businesses and agencies. While all students had the opportunity to attend, there were special time blocks reserved for the junior class and senior class students, so they could have a better opportunity to talk to the representatives and practice interview skills.

School Photos - Dental Program Visit
Santa Rita High School graduate Ryan Winfield, now a Dental Lab Technician and owner of Winfield Dental Studio, recently visited our dental program. He shared insights into careers in the dental field and demonstrated advanced digital dental scanning techniques used to create partials, implants, and dentures. Ryan comes from a proud Santa Rita family, with all five of his brothers and his sister also graduating from our school.

School Photos - Toy Drive

Santa Rita's Student Council has worked hard to organize their annual toy drive. They purchased toys that students could sign up to receive for themselves and their siblings, completely free of charge. Additionally, they created an Amazon wishlist, which many staff members generously contributed to, alongside donations from community partners.

This year, community service has been the primary focus of Santa Rita's Student Council. As part of this effort, Marine recruiters from the South Tucson recruiting station volunteered to help wrap the presents chosen by students.
